Road to the Anniversary [Pt. 2]

"Uhm, yeah." Nicki reached over grabbing the far piece of paper and looking over it. "I think we're gonna go with this treatment for the video. I think Cam and Ross will like the idea of it. It's dope.

"Alright, so we've come to a conclusion?" Manny asked looking up from his phone.

"Yeah. So you can call Baby and Slim and let them know everything and then I'll get on the phone with Ross and Cam and sort everything out."

"Imma head over there now and get things taken care of." Manny got up from his seat and headed towards the door. "I'll call or email you later. Bye everybody."

"Bye." the whole room said in unison. Nicki continued shuffling through the papers when her phone alerted her that she had a BBM. Nicki glanced at her phone before dropping the papers back on the table and grabbing her phone. She crossed her legs while pulling up her BBMs. She sighed deeply staring blankly at her phone.

I know you've read my BBM. I know this awkward. I really just wanna talk. Kind of miss you. And writing this is even more awkward. Get back to me when you can. Take Care. 


Nicki rolled her eyes closing the BBM. She unknowingly slammed her phone down on the table a little too hard. Candi and Lauren looked at each other before looking at Nicki. Nicki was reading over the papers not noticing that they were looking in her direction. Candi cleared her throat louder than normal and Nicki looked up. Lauren giggled quietly looking down at her phone.

"Care to explain?" Candi asked.

"Explain what?" Nicki said never taking her eyes off the papers in her hand.

"You just slammed your phone down in case you didn't notice. You and Safaree at it?"

"No." Nicki put the papers down and looking at Lauren before looking at Candi.

"Soooooooo...."

"So."

"Stop acting like that. Who was it?"

Lauren laughed again never looking up from her phone. Nicki cut her eyes at Candi and began playing with her nails.

"Drake."

"OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Nicki snapped her head in Candi's direction. Lauren looked up from her phone giving Candi a weird look.

"What was those dramatics for?"

"I'm the one with the questions here. When did you start speaking to Drake again? Secretive ass."

"Yeah, you never told me how it went at the YMCMB party the other day."

"Nothing happened really. I didn't engage in conversation with him. When he walked over to me at the party I-"

"WAIT." Candi held her hand up. "He walked over to you? With Safaree right there? Wow."

"What did Safaree do?"

"Ok, can I talk?" Lauren and Candi shrugged letting her continue. "Safaree was getting me something to drink when Drake walked over."

"Oh shit. What did Safaree do when you told him?"

"What did Drake say?"

"Can I-- finish talking, please?" Nicki rolled her eyes and continued. "Like I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted by the both of you. I was minding mine. Having a fabulous time. Then he walked over talking about some 'You look nice'. I know this." Lauren and Candi both rolled their eyes at Nicki's cockiness. "Then he said we need to talk but it's not the right time. That's when Safaree was coming back and Drake was gone like a fucking track runner."

"So what did Safaree say?"

"Safaree was surprisingly calm. I don't know how after all the mess them two have been through with each other. Lord knows I don't need anymore of that."

"I don't understand why Drizzly Bear doesn't respect you and SB's relationship." Nicki busted out laughing at Candi's name for him.

"No, seriously. I can't." Nicki put a hand on her chest and tried to cease her laugh.

"Are you gonna tell Safaree?"

"Of course. I don't want him to think I'm tryna hide something. Especially when he means nothing to me."

"Damn. Crazy how things played out."

Nicki nodded her head slowly. Silence filled the room before Lauren spoke up.

"Where is Safaree anyways?"

"Hell if I know. Anytime I ask him he says he's got things to take care of."

"'Cause I do." Safaree said entering the living room. Everyone snapped their heads in his direction.

"And where the hell did you come from?"

"None ya damn business." Safaree said walking through the kitchen and making his way into the living room.

"Wow. The disrespect."

Nicki laughed and stared at Safaree making his way over to her. As Safaree approached her Lauren and Candi both made a sour face knowing what was about to happen. "Please don't." Lauren spoke up. Safaree wiggled his eyebrows and Nicki placed her hand under his chin. Safaree put his hand over his chains keeping them down before fully bending down giving Nicki a kiss. Nicki licked Safaree's lips before giving his bottom lip a kiss. As Safaree broke the kiss Nicki removed her hand from his chin and grabbed his hand. He gave her a kiss on her forehead and Nicki let go of his hand allowing him to take a seat next to her.

"You two are disgusting." Candi said.

"You love us together."

"Yeah. But you're like a sister and he's like a brother. I don't wanna see all that."

"Whatever" Nicki said.

"Lauren..Candi.." Safaree nodded his head at them.

"Oh so NOW you wanna properly greet us?" Candi said above normal speaking voice.

"Why are you so loud and dramatic today?" Nicki said trying to hold in her laugh.

"Who cares." Lauren said speaking up before Candi could defend herself. "We gotta go." Lauren got up from her seat with her things and walked over towards Candi grabbing her by her wrist. "Let's go, nosy. Bye Nic. Bye SB."

"Ugh. Bye y'all. Nic, if y'all get freaky while I'm gone call me tonight."

"Wuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh?" Nicki said in shock trying not to laugh.

"Excuse her. Bye y'all." Lauren said and with that dragging Candi out of the house.

"Yo Candi is a nosy freak."

"She's crazy." Nicki looked down at her phone looking at the time. Nicki looked up and over at Safaree who was focusing on his phone. She put her hand on his cheek caressing it. "Where you been?"

"Taking care of business." He turned his head facing her acting as if he was going to bite her hand. She snatched her hand back quickly and rolled her eyes.

"Never tell me anything."

"It's suppose to be a secret."

Nicki looked down to her phone pulling up her BBM. As it came up she held her phone out towards Safaree. He looked up and took the phone out of her hand. As he looked over the BBM, Nicki tried to scan his face for any emotion or change in body language. Safaree shrugged and handed her the phone back and focused back to his phone.

"I don't even know why he keeps trying if you haven't been replying. Or why he even wants to talk to you now after all this time."

"I don't know what to say in response because we haven't talked in so long."

"Who cares. Just ignore him."

Nicki could tell SB didn't really care to talk about this so she deaded the conversation. "We've came to a decision for the treatment of the Ross and Cam video. I know my barbz will love it. Here." Nicki grabbed the sheet of paper that read the treatment on it and handed it to SB.

"Yeah, this'll be dope. When you shootin' it?"

"I don't know. I need to get in touch with them and set up a schedule for when we would be able to do it. I know Cam is working on a new album so I have to work around that. I'm sure Ross is available whenever so he should be good." Nicki yawned and looked over at the clock. It was 11:52 and Nicki was drained. Nicki yawned again and Safaree looked over at her.

"Tired?"

"Is that rhetorical? Carry me to your bed."

"Carry yaself."

"Baaaaaaaabbbbbeeeeee. Please." Nicki whined. Safaree sat there still focusing on his phone paying Nicki no attention. Nicki made a loud pout noise irritating Safaree.

"Alright, woman. Relax." Nicki smiled holding her arms up ready for Safaree as he stood up putting his phone in his back pocket. He adjusted his hat and pulled up his pants before picking her up. Nicki immediately wrapped her arms around his neck and her legs tightly around his waist laying her head on his chest.

"You never wanna hold me anymore. You're mean to me."

"I hold you all the time." He said walking down the hall towards his bedroom. "And now is a prime example." Safaree made it to the bedroom and thankfully the door was already opened. Safaree walked around to the left side of the bed and put Nicki down.

"What the hell?"

"What?"

"I never sleep on this side. In your bed or mine. So fix it." Nicki raised her hands back up and smiled deviously looking at Safaree. He looked down at her and huffed as he picked her back up.

"You're so spoiled."

"You love me." Nicki kissed his neck right before he released her on the right side of the bed. She adjusted herself getting under the covers and finding her comfort. She looked over at Safaree as he was going through his dresser getting clothes. "You're not laying down with me?" Nicki made a pout face when he turned around to her.

"I'm taking a shower. I'll be back." Safaree walked over to her kissing her on her forehead as she gave him a slight smile and headed for the bathroom.

Safaree came out of the bathroom rubbing his face. He looked over at Nicki noticing she was sound asleep. He climbed in the bed next to her and sat up. She shifted a little when she felt his movement in the bed but never woke up. He reached over in his nightstand top drawer pulling out his letter for their anniversary. He decided it would be best to write now. His feelings would flow easier looking at her. He began writing and the words just came to him. He looked over at her and it was weird how she smiled in her sleep. He chuckled at her turning his attention back to the paper. He was writing everything so quickly he didn't even notice it was already a page and a half. He wrote his last thoughts and folded the paper back up. He put the pen and paper back in his top drawer and closed it quietly so he didn't awake her. He shifted in bed cuddling up behind Nicki. As soon as he wrapped his arm around her she scooted back more and dropped her hand on his arm.
